A Little Catching Up....
A lot has gone on in the past few months...we've talked about many topics including Godly Self Esteem, Healthy Homes, Love Languages, Fears and Guilt, and Adventures with Kids. Whew! Our next meeting is Thursday, February 19th and it will be GAME DAY!!! Come prepared for some fun! We'll be playing Bunco, amongst some other fun and a craft!

Creativity with Your Kids
This week's topic was "Getting Creative with your Kids" with our speaker, Rhoda Perozzi. She discussed simple ways to be creative in your parenting, without the need for being crafty!
We then ended up getting crafty for a bit by making French Bulletin Boards. Thanks for all the coordination Lori!
Don't forget your care group outing is coming up! Most groups are meeting Thursday, October 30 at various places around town. See your TL for details. Also, there are only 2 more meetings to bring in your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes! Our goal is 50 boxes....let's try to exceed that! Filling one box in honor of each of your children is a simple way to teach them about giving to those in need.
Our next meeting is November 6! We will hear a devotion from Mentor Mom Mary and our speaker topic will be "Godly Self Esteem" with Debbie Wood. Breakfast will be provided by the Mega Coaster Mamas! See you then!

Operation Christmas Child
WEAG MOPS is partnering with Samaritan's Purse to pack, collect, and donate shoeboxes for children across the globe this Christmas Season. Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

Mothering Testimony
Finally....we had MOPS again on 10/16!!! What a long break that was between meetings. It was great to be back!
We have lots of new faces this year which is wonderful to see. We hope you all are enjoying your time with your other table group members and leaders and starting to form some encouraging relationships.
Sandy Hall, from Commonwealth Chapel, was our speaker this week. She gave her own personal mothering testimony, and we discussed our personal expectations of motherhood and how we were living up to those self-imposed standards.

MOPS Convention 2008
The 2008 MOPS International Convention was held October 2-4 in Grapevine, Texas, just outside of Dallas. A few of our steering members attended for speakers, workshops, brainstorming, and lots of fun and bonding. Here are a few pics!
At the opening General Session. Moms were EVERYWHERE!!! Over 4000 MOPS moms were in attendance from around the country and world!

The Adventure Begins.....
Our first meeting was a huge success! Thanks to all of you who came out to take part in the MOPS experience! If you missed the first meeting, don't worry! You will be filled in at the next meeting or feel free to contact your table leader with any questions or concerns! They are there to make your experience the best it can possibly be!
